Governor Alia Declares Total War on Insecurity

The Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, has vowed to restore lasting peace and security across the state.

Governor Alia made the declaration after receiving a briefing on the deployment and reinforcement of security personnel to troubled areas in Kwande and other affected Local Government Areas across the state.

In a statement issued by the Technical Adviser on Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, Solomon Iorpev, the governor commended the efforts of security agencies in restoring calm to affected communities. He stressed that individuals responsible for acts of insecurity in the state would be identified, apprehended, and brought to justice.

The statement further noted that the additional deployment of security personnel is a strategic step aimed at decisively clamping down on criminal activities and strengthening safety in vulnerable communities.

Governor Alia also emphasized that bandits and all individuals attempting to disrupt the peace of the state would be relentlessly pursued and prosecuted in accordance with the law. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting the people of Benue, their farmlands, and their communities at all costs.

The statement added that the present administration remains resolute and will not be deterred by resistance from perpetrators of these violent acts, reiterating the government’s determination to secure every part of the state.
