NDLEA Clarifies Drug Integrity Test Is Free for New Paramilitary Recruits

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced that applicants undergoing the mandatory Drug Integrity Test as part of recruitment into four paramilitary agencies under the Ministry of Interior are not required to make any payment.
The agency disclosed that the Ministry of Interior had already made bulk payments to cover the cost of testing for all new recruits, warning applicants against paying money to NDLEA officials, designated testing centres or through any other payment channel.

The affected agencies are the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
In a statement issued on Friday, October 30, 2026, NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, said arrangements had been concluded for the exercise.
He explained that candidates would access the NDLEA Drug Integrity Test platform through designated links provided on their respective institutional recruitment portals.
Applicants would then complete the necessary registration and documentation before proceeding to their designated testing centres without additional financial obligations.
The agency emphasised that the arrangement was designed to ensure a smooth, transparent and efficient screening process while protecting applicants from unnecessary charges.
NDLEA urged all candidates to follow the official recruitment guidelines and avoid making payments to individuals or organisations demanding money for the exercise.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to supporting a credible recruitment process and strengthening efforts to promote drug integrity across the country.
