FG, CUSTOMS ADVANCE TRADE EFFICIENCY WITH NATIONAL SINGLE WINDOW

Ibadan, Nigeria, March 27, 2026

The Federal Government of Nigeria, in partnership with the Nigeria Customs Service, has intensified efforts to enhance trade efficiency through the advancement of the National Single Window initiative.

The update, shared via Aso Villa Digital, reflects ongoing reforms targeted at modernizing Nigeria’s trade ecosystem and improving ease of doing business.

The National Single Window is a centralized digital platform that integrates various government agencies involved in import and export processes into a unified system. This innovation is expected to streamline documentation, approvals, and payments, thereby significantly reducing delays, administrative bottlenecks, and the cost of trade operations.

By simplifying procedures and improving coordination among regulatory bodies, the initiative will enhance transparency, promote compliance, and strengthen revenue collection. It is also designed to curb illicit trade practices while ensuring faster clearance of goods at the nation’s ports.

Stakeholders have noted that the implementation of the platform will position Nigeria in line with global best practices, making the country more competitive in international trade and more attractive to investors.

The Federal Government reiterated its commitment to deploying technology-driven solutions to support economic growth, facilitate seamless trade, and reinforce Nigeria’s position as a key commercial hub in Africa.
