Tinubu Visits Akwa Ibom, Set To Inaugurate Major Infrastructure Projects

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, to inaugurate several major infrastructure projects executed by the administration of Governor Umo Eno as part of efforts to strengthen development and improve public infrastructure in the state.

The President’s visit is expected to feature the commissioning of key aviation, road, administrative and tourism facilities, including the newly constructed International Terminal Building at the Victor Attah International Airport and Ring Road 3.
The new international terminal is one of several aviation-related facilities scheduled for inauguration at the airport. Others include the International Airport Hospital and the Ibom Aviation Village, projects expected to support aviation operations and strengthen the state’s position as an emerging aviation and investment destination.

Also scheduled for inauguration is Ring Road 3, which connects Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom. The road project is expected to improve transportation, ease movement between communities and enhance access to different parts of the state.
Other projects lined up for commissioning include the Airport-Okopedi Road, AKWA-GIS Office Complex, Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.
The projects cut across different sectors, reflecting the state government’s focus on infrastructure expansion, public administration, security and tourism development.

The visit forms part of President Tinubu’s two-state engagement in Akwa Ibom and Rivers States.
Following his engagements in Akwa Ibom, the President is expected to proceed to Port Harcourt on Saturday, where he will participate in an All Progressives Congress rally.

The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for the Federal Government and the Akwa Ibom State Government to highlight ongoing development initiatives and their contributions to infrastructure growth and economic activities in the state.
