DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS SHOWCASES BATTLE READINESS AS PERSONNEL COMPLETE JOINT OPERATIONS TRAINING

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has reaffirmed the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening national security, following the successful completion of an intensive Joint Operations Planning Exercise by military personnel drawn from the Army, Navy and Air Force.

The training, conducted under the supervision of the Defence Headquarters, was designed to enhance interoperability, strategic planning, and coordination among the services in responding to contemporary security challenges across the country.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, military authorities commended the participants for demonstrating professionalism, discipline and a high level of operational competence throughout the exercise. They emphasized that the training reflects the Armed Forces’ resolve to remain prepared to confront terrorism, insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and other emerging threats.

According to the Defence Headquarters, joint training exercises play a critical role in improving operational effectiveness by enabling personnel from different services to plan and execute missions seamlessly under a unified command structure.

The DHQ reiterated that continuous capacity building, modern operational strategies and inter-service collaboration remain central to achieving the military’s constitutional mandate of safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty and protecting the lives and property of citizens.

The successful completion of the exercise underscores the Armed Forces’ readiness to respond swiftly and effectively to security challenges while strengthening national defence capabilities through sustained training and operational excellence.
