ADELEKE DECLARED WINNER OF OSUN GOVERNORSHIP POLL

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, winner of the 2026 governorship election.

Adeleke secured 511,067 votes, defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 444,815 votes. He won 19 of the state’s 30 Local Government Areas, while Oyebamiji won 11.  

The result gives Adeleke a winning margin of 66,252 votes and secures him another term as Governor of Osun State.  

The declaration was made early Sunday, August 16, by the Returning Officer, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, at the INEC collation centre in Osogbo.
