Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has rescued the President Muhammadu Buhari Estate in Abeokuta from possible forfeiture and completed the project as a modern 108-unit residential community.

The estate, located along the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway, had been inherited in a largely undeveloped state and was later threatened by a legal dispute arising from unpaid obligations to the contractor. The Abiodun administration intervened, resolved the dispute out of court and secured the state’s interest in the property.

The government subsequently adopted a Public-Private Partnership model, providing the land and infrastructure while private developers handled the construction and sale of the homes. The completed estate comprises 108 four-bedroom fully detached and semi-detached duplexes, supported by modern roads, street lighting, water supply, 24-hour power, recreational facilities, landscaping and security.

The estate is scheduled to be commissioned on Tuesday by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu. Governor Abiodun described the development as another demonstration of his administration’s commitment to completing inherited projects, protecting public assets and leveraging private-sector investment to deliver quality housing and infrastructure in Ogun State.
