BENUE POLICE COMMAND RESCUES 13 KIDNAPPED ABUJA BOUND PASSENGERS; VOWS TO ARREST FLEEING SUSPECTS

The Benue State Police Command has rescued 13 passengers abducted along the Otukpo–Adoka Road while travelling from Enugu to Abuja. The victims were rescued during a night operation at Amla-Cho Forest in Otukpo LGA after about five days of sustained search operations.  

Police operatives reportedly engaged the kidnappers in a gun battle, during which one suspected kidnapper was neutralised. An AK-47 rifle and five rounds of ammunition were recovered. The remaining suspects fled under cover of darkness.  

The rescued passengers were found unhurt, given medical attention and subsequently transported to their destinations. The Commissioner of Police, Cletus Nwadiogbu, commended the officers and vowed that the fleeing suspects would be tracked down and arrested through sustained intelligence-led operations.
