INEC TO DEPLOY REAL-TIME ELECTION READINESS TRACKER FOR 2027 GENERAL ELECTION

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to deploy a first-of-its-kind real-time election readiness tracker to monitor preparations for the 2027 General Election across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, disclosed this during a two-day strategic operational workshop for Administrative Secretaries in Lagos.

The tracker will provide real-time updates on logistics, distribution of election materials, recruitment and training of ad-hoc personnel, electoral technology and overall state-level preparedness. It will be linked to the Commission’s Election Monitoring and Support Centre dashboard and Election Project Plan.

Amupitan said the initiative is designed to move INEC from reactive management to proactive planning by identifying and addressing potential operational challenges before they affect election delivery.

The Commission also said the tracker is intended to become a permanent operational and onboarding tool for future Administrative Secretaries, beyond the 2027 elections.
