BENUE STATE GOVERNMENT DENIES PETER OBI’S CLAIM OF ATTACK ON HIS CONVOY BY SUSPECTED THUGS
The Benue State Government has denied Peter Obi’s allegation that suspected thugs linked to the state government attacked or blocked his convoy while he was travelling to Yelewata.

The government, through Governor Hyacinth Alia’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, described the allegation as unfounded and insisted that the administration does not engage, sponsor or deploy thugs as instruments of governance or security.
The denial follows reports that Obi’s convoy was stopped by youths along Gboko Road in Makurdi, with videos showing the confrontation. The allegation of state government involvement has not been independently verified.
