PRESIDENT TINUBU SALUTES SENATOR YARI AT 58

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, the senator representing Zamfara West, on the occasion of his 58th birthday, recognising his years of political and administrative service in Zamfara State and Nigeria.

In a message issued on September 28, 2026, President Tinubu described Yari as a loyal party member, experienced administrator and grassroots mobiliser, while acknowledging his organisational experience within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Yari served as Governor of Zamfara State from 2011 to 2019, completing two terms in office. During his tenure, he also served as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, where he participated in engagements concerning issues affecting state governments and relations between the states and the Federal Government.  

President Tinubu also highlighted Yari’s current responsibilities as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, a position that places him at the centre of the party’s organisational activities ahead of the 2027 General Elections. The Presidency said Tinubu appreciated Yari’s commitment and resilience in carrying out the assignment.  

The birthday message comes as political activities and consultations ahead of the 2027 elections continue to increase. The Presidency had earlier noted that Yari has been leading engagements with political stakeholders and traditional rulers as part of his responsibilities within the campaign structure.  

Tinubu further commended Yari for what he described as his belief in the progressive ideals of the APC. He expressed appreciation for the senator’s contributions to the party and wished him continued strength in serving his constituents and the country.

The President concluded his message by praying for Yari to be blessed with many more years in good health, wisdom and strength, as he continues his political and public service responsibilities.
