Governor Radda Increases Financial Support for 560 Women by 100%

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has increased financial assistance to 560 women under a grassroots empowerment initiative by 100 per cent, raising the amount received by each beneficiary from ₦10,000 to ₦20,000.
The intervention took place during an empowerment programme organised in Funtua by the Chairman of the Katsina State Internal Revenue Service (KTIRS), Alhaji Isiyaku Mohammed.

Governor Radda announced an additional ₦5.6 million after observing that the women had initially received ₦10,000 each. The additional amount was immediately disbursed, bringing the total financial support to ₦11.2 million for the 560 beneficiaries.
The governor explained that his decision was aimed at strengthening the financial capacity of the women and enabling them to improve their economic activities.

Earlier, KTIRS Chairman, Alhaji Isiyaku Mohammed, explained that the initiative was designed to reach women directly at the grassroots through a polling-unit-based approach.
He disclosed that the programme initially targeted 20 women from each polling unit, with plans to extend the intervention to more communities.
Mohammed noted that the initiative also recognises the importance of empowering women in improving household welfare and supporting local economic development.
He further revealed that persons with disabilities, media practitioners and neighbourhood security groups were also included in the broader programme, bringing the number of beneficiaries to approximately 800.
The initiative forms part of broader grassroots financial support efforts aimed at improving economic participation and providing assistance to vulnerable groups across Katsina State.
