Chelsea FC Unveils Enzo Maresca as New Manager Following Pochettino’s Departure
London, UK – Chelsea FC has officially announced Enzo Maresca as the new manager, succeeding Mauricio Pochettino, who was sacked at the end of last season. Maresca, known for his tactical acumen and player development skills, expressed his enthusiasm and vision for the club during his unveiling.
“I’m very happy [to be here], excited. It will be a fantastic journey, and yeah, excited to start as soon as possible,” Maresca stated. Highlighting the club’s winning mentality, Maresca remarked, “It’s the main point because when you join a club like Chelsea, you have to know that it’s a club that has to win. So, for us, we’re going to try to do our best to be there. At least to fight and compete with the top clubs that at this moment are winning and fighting for titles.”
Maresca also reflected on Chelsea’s successful history with Italian managers. “Probably there is something between Chelsea as a club, as a family, and Italian people that works well!” he said.
Looking ahead, Maresca outlined his approach to creating a strong team culture and fan connection. “For me, it’s clear we need to create as soon as possible the right mentality and culture, a culture that the fans can be proud of. We are going to try to be an aggressive team on the ball and off the ball, and we need to create this connection between the fans and the club, especially at home.”
