President Tinubu Establishes Ministry of Livestock Development

Abuja, Nigeria – President Bola Tinubu has announced the creation of a new Ministry of Livestock Development, earning praise from the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).

In a statement released on Tuesday, MACBAN President Baba Othman-Ngelzarma expressed the association’s gratitude, emphasizing that the new ministry will unlock the potential of Nigeria’s trillion-naira livestock industry. He highlighted that the ministry aims to generate high-quality and efficient employment opportunities throughout the livestock value chain, contributing significantly to the Nigerian economy.

“With this development, MACBAN believes the hope of the Nigerian pastoralists is now achieved under the Renew Hope Agenda,” Othman-Ngelzarma stated. He noted that President Tinubu’s promise to enhance Nigeria’s agricultural productivity and ensure food security is being fulfilled.

“For years, we have been agitating for the creation of a stand-alone ministry to modernize the livestock production system in line with global best practices,” he added.

MACBAN, including its Chairman and Board of Trustees led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, extended their congratulations to President Tinubu and the Nigerian Armed Forces for this significant development.
