President Tinubu Announces Provision of 36 CNG Buses to Labour Unions

Abuja, Nigeria – In a bid to alleviate the financial burden on workers due to the high cost of living, President Bola Tinubu has announced plans to provide 36 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-fueled buses to the nation’s labour unions.

During a meeting held today in Abuja, the President revealed that each of the 36 buses will have a seating capacity of 100 and will be distributed to the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC). This initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to support workers amid escalating living costs.

President Tinubu emphasized the administration’s commitment to easing the economic challenges faced by Nigerian workers. The interaction between the Federal Government and the two main trade unions highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts to enhance workers’ welfare and address the pressing issues affecting their daily lives.

The provision of CNG-fueled buses is expected to reduce transportation costs for workers, offering a more sustainable and affordable commuting option. This move is seen as a significant step towards mitigating the impact of the current economic situation on the working class.

The announcement has been welcomed by labour leaders, who view it as a positive response to their calls for government intervention to improve the living conditions of Nigerian workers.
