Lagos State Disburses ₦3.1 Billion Compensation to 331 Property Owners Affected by Infrastructure Projects

Lagos, Nigeria — The Lagos State Government has disbursed ₦3.1 billion in compensation to 331 property owners whose lands and buildings were acquired for major infrastructure projects across Badagry, Epe, Ikorodu, Igbogbo, and Ogba.

The compensation was presented as part of the state’s commitment to ensuring that individuals and businesses affected by public infrastructure development receive fair and timely compensation. The projects form part of the government’s ongoing efforts to improve road networks and expand critical public infrastructure across Lagos.

According to the state government, all compensation claims underwent a thorough verification process to ensure that payments were made only to the rightful property owners. The verification exercise was conducted in line with established legal and administrative procedures to promote transparency and accountability.

Speaking during the presentation, the state government acknowledged the personal impact of compulsory land acquisition, noting that every affected property represents a family, a home, or a business.
