Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called for stronger collaboration with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support ongoing reforms of the Almajiri education system across the country.

Speaking during a meeting with Saudi officials, the First Lady emphasized the need for strategic partnerships to improve access to quality education for Almajiri children while integrating religious instruction with formal education, vocational training, and life skills.

She noted that reforming the Almajiri system remains essential to empowering millions of vulnerable children, reducing poverty, and promoting national development. According to her, collaboration with Saudi Arabia would facilitate the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and best practices in Islamic education and child development.

Senator Tinubu reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring that every Nigerian child has access to quality education in a safe and supportive learning environment. She expressed confidence that a partnership with Saudi Arabia would contribute significantly to achieving sustainable reforms in the Almajiri school system.

The proposed collaboration is expected to focus on educational development, capacity building, and initiatives aimed at improving the welfare and future prospects of children enrolled in Almajiri schools across Nigeria.
