POLICE AFFAIRS MINISTER RECEIVES NEW POLICE ACADEMY COMMANDANT & OUTGOING COMMANDANT

Published August 12, 2026 · admin

The Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, has received the newly appointed Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, alongside the outgoing Commandant, as part of the leadership transition at the institution.

The engagement underscores the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening police education, professional training and institutional development as Nigeria continues efforts to build a more efficient and modern police force.

The Nigeria Police Academy remains central to the training and professional development of officers. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier reconstituted its governing council, with the Minister of Police Affairs appointed as chairman.

The leadership transition comes as the Federal Government expands investment in the Academy, including plans for a new campus in Ogun State and a ₦15 billion take-off grant approved for infrastructure, academic facilities, accommodation and training assets.
