OSUN STATE POLICE WARNS AGAINST FORCEFUL TAKEOVER OF OSUN LG AREAS

The Osun State Police Command has warned individuals, political groups and associations against any attempt to forcefully take over the affairs or premises of Local Government Areas in the state.

The warning was issued by the Commissioner of Police (Election), CP Samuel Etaifo Erale, following reports of plans by some groups to occupy local government facilities while related matters remain before the courts.  

The command said anyone who attempts to forcibly occupy or disrupt local government facilities will be treated as a serious breach of the peace and could face arrest and prosecution.

The police urged all parties to remain calm, respect the rule of law and allow the courts to resolve the ongoing dispute. It also called on political, traditional, community and youth leaders to caution their supporters against actions capable of undermining peace and security in Osun State.
