NDLEA, CIVIL DEFENCE PLEDGE SUPPORT FOR PEACEFUL CAMPAIGNS AND 2027 GENERAL ELECTIONS

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have pledged their commitment to supporting peaceful political campaigns and ensuring a secure environment for the 2027 general elections.

The agencies said they would work with other security stakeholders to prevent the use of illicit drugs, violence and other criminal activities that could undermine the electoral process.

They also urged political parties, candidates and their supporters to embrace dialogue, tolerance and responsible conduct throughout the campaign period, stressing the importance of protecting Nigeria’s democratic process.  

The pledge comes amid broader efforts by security agencies and political stakeholders to promote non-violence and peaceful participation ahead of the 2027 polls.
