COMMANDER 63 PLEDGES SUSTAINED COLLABORATION WITH NSCDC IN COMBATING CRIME IN DELTA STATE

The Commander 63 Brigade/Sector 1, Joint Tasks Force, Operation DELTA SAFE (OPDS), Brigadier General MA Shonibare, has assured the new State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Chinedu Igbo, of continued and strengthened collaboration to safeguard lives and property across Delta State.
The assurance was given during a courtesy visit by Commandant Igbo to the Headquarters of the 63 Brigade in Asaba on Wednesday, 17 September 2025.


Brigadier General Shonibare emphasized that under his leadership, the Brigade would deepen existing partnerships, particularly in the areas of joint operations, training, and prompt response to critical security challenges. He warmly welcomed Commandant Igbo to Delta State and wished him a successful tenure in his new role.
In his remarks, Commandant Chinedu Igbo highlighted that the visit was aimed at formally introducing himself and assessing the leadership dynamics within the 63 Brigade. He praised the Brigade’s notable achievements in maintaining peace and security in the State. Additionally, he sought continued support and collaboration, underscoring the NSCDC’s vital role in complementing the efforts of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies.


This meeting marks a significant step towards enhancing synergy between the Nigerian Army and the NSCDC, strengthening security architecture, and fostering peace in Delta State.
