The Odogbolusians celebrated in pride and unity at the 49th Odogbolu Heritage Festival and celebrated Governor Dapo Abiodun’s visionary and strategic leadership in reshaping Ogun State. The celebration on December 6, 2025, became a moment to acknowledge and celebrate Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun CON’s impact under the Building Our Future Together agenda, which continues to drive progress in infrastructure, education, health, and community development.

The Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Ogun State, Hon Otunba OlaDapo AbdulRahman Okubadejo was honoured to represents his Political Leader and Boss, His Excellency, Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun CON, Governor, Ogun State, and as the Chairman of the Occation yesterday, the 49th Odogbolu Heritage Day. The warm reception from the sons and daughters of Odogbolu reflected their deep appreciation for the Governor’s work across the local government area and Ogun State. The heritage festival celebrated long-standing community spirit Odogbolu has sustained this cultural gathering for 49 years, bringing residents together and strengthening unity each year.

Hon Dapo Okubadejo, the Chairman of the Occasion, celebrated the unique traditions and values that shape the community’s identity, recognizing that these festivals serve as a vital link between past and future generations. The vibrant display of culture through music, dance, and cultural display was truly inspiring. This festival is a testament to the strength of our heritage, unity, and traditions as he appeal to everyone to let us continue to use platforms like this to foster peace, strengthen community bonds, and promote progress across the local government area, other Ijebu towns and the state.

Hon Otunba OlaDapo Okubadejo was thrilled with the large audience, including the (Alaye-In-Council), both former and present government officials, political leaders across Ijebulandnot limited to Odogbolu, age grades called Regberegbes, and Sons and Daughters of the community from near and far, as He joined the Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government and President of the Community Development Council, Hon. Dr. Babatunde Oyetola Diya, to acknowledge the significance of this tradition and his duly services to the good people of Odogbolu.

The launch of the two hundred and fifty million naira Odogbolu Centre for Creative and Vocational Development Trust Fund was a major highlight. The initiative shows clear vision from Hon. Dr. Tunde Diya and love of the good people of Odogbolu Local government area to our hardworking Governor Dapo Abiodun CON and State government with a strong desire to empower the next generation.

Hon Dapo Okubadejo thanks the good people of Odogbolu for their unflinching support to the Governor Dapo Abiodun and his government, encouraged the youths to take advantage of the newly refurbished Government Technical Colleges across Ogun State, which are set for commissioning, offering new opportunities in technical and vocational education as Odogbolu anticipated.

Hon Otunba OlaDapo Okubadejo highlighted key projects that continue to shape development in Odogbolu and surrounding areas, including the Epe Mojoda Road, the Ejirin Tokin Road, and the recently awarded Itanrin Road that links to Ijebu Ode. While highlighting, he mentioned the landmark project of Gateway International Airport, Iperu, as a strategic signature achievement of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration. These projects reflect the Governor’s commitment to long-term growth. He consistently stresses the importance of peace and unity for collective progress, urging residents to set aside differences for the greater good, security, and continuous development of the local government area and state.

Hon Dapo Okubadejo congratulated the entire community on a successful festival, reaffirmed and assured them of continuous state government support and transformation of the Odogbolu local government area as the state moves forward together.
