NTA DG Promises More Live Sports Activities on Their Stations

The Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, has reaffirmed the commitment of NTA Sports 24 to becoming a major force in the promotion and development of sports across Nigeria.
Dembos made this assurance at the NTA Sports 24 end-of-year party and awards celebration held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja. He emphasized that NTA would continue to expand its live sports coverage, providing Nigerians with greater access to sporting events while supporting athletes, federations, and grassroots sports development nationwide.
According to the Director-General, increased live broadcasts and enhanced sports programming remain central to NTA Sports 24’s vision of nurturing talent and strengthening the sports ecosystem in the country. He noted that the station’s growing involvement in sports coverage reflects NTA’s broader mandate to inform, educate, and entertain Nigerians through impactful content.
The event also featured an awards ceremony, during which Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos was honoured with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his leadership and unwavering support for sports development. Several presidents of sports federations and other key sports stakeholders were equally recognized for their outstanding contributions to the growth of sports in Nigeria and their partnership with NTA Sports 24.
The celebration brought together administrators, athletes, and media professionals, highlighting the role of broadcast media in advancing sports and fostering national unity. NTA Sports 24 reiterated its resolve to collaborate with stakeholders to deliver quality sports content and promote sporting excellence across the nation.
