Tinubu Congratulates Energy Commission DG Abdullahi on Election as NBBF President

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, Abdullahi, on his election as President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF).

The congratulatory message recognises Abdullahi’s emergence as head of the federation responsible for overseeing the development, administration and promotion of basketball in Nigeria.

As NBBF president, Abdullahi is expected to work with relevant stakeholders to strengthen basketball development, improve the administration of the sport and create more opportunities for Nigerian players to compete at national and international levels.

The Nigeria Basketball Federation plays a significant role in organising basketball competitions, supporting athletes and coordinating the activities of national teams, including Nigeria’s senior men’s and women’s basketball teams.

The election also presents an opportunity to strengthen grassroots basketball, improve talent identification and development, and encourage greater investment in the sport.

President Tinubu’s congratulatory message underscores the importance of sports administration and leadership in advancing Nigeria’s sporting sector.

Further details about the President’s full message and Abdullahi’s plans for the federation would provide additional insight into the priorities of the new NBBF leadership.
