NIGERIA, FRANCE DEEPEN DEFENCE COOPERATION

Nigeria and France have taken steps to strengthen their defence partnership, marking a renewed commitment to enhanced military cooperation and regional security.

The development was disclosed via Aso Villa Digital, highlighting ongoing efforts by both nations to build stronger strategic ties in the area of defence and security.

Key discussions between defence officials focused on improving collaboration in military training, intelligence sharing, and operational support. The partnership is expected to bolster Nigeria’s capacity to address evolving security challenges, including terrorism, insurgency, and other transnational threats.

The Nigerian Air Force is expected to play a significant role in the cooperation framework, particularly in areas such as aerial operations, technical support, and capacity development.

Both countries also explored opportunities for joint exercises, defence technology exchange, and logistics support, which are aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and readiness of their armed forces.
