The Federal Government has taken over Bama College for use as the permanent campus of the Federal University of Agriculture and Entrepreneurship, in a move aimed at strengthening access to higher education and promoting agricultural development and entrepreneurship in Nigeria.

The development is expected to provide the university with a permanent location for its academic and administrative activities, creating opportunities for students to pursue programmes related to agriculture, business development, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The establishment of a permanent campus could also support the growth of agricultural education and research, equipping students with practical skills to improve food production, encourage agribusiness and contribute to national economic development.

The university is expected to play a role in developing skilled graduates who can apply modern agricultural techniques, establish businesses and create employment opportunities, particularly within rural communities.

The takeover may also bring wider benefits to Bama and its surrounding communities through increased economic activities, infrastructure development and opportunities for local businesses.

However, the extent of these benefits will depend on the development of the campus, provision of essential facilities and effective implementation of the university’s academic programmes.

The initiative reflects the importance of investing in higher education, agriculture and entrepreneurship as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s human capital and promote sustainable economic growth.
