The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has approved the promotion of 27,624 personnel across Nigeria’s four paramilitary agencies and announced the reopening of its ongoing recruitment portal from October 28 to November 13, 2026.

The Secretary to the Board, Major General Abdulmalik Jibril (rtd.), disclosed the decisions while briefing journalists after the Board’s 01-26 meeting at its secretariat in the Old Federal Secretariat, Area 1, Abuja.
Jibril made the announcement on behalf of the Board’s Chairman, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The promotions cover personnel of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Board Approves Healthcare Framework, 228 Disciplinary Cases
The Board also validated a healthcare policy framework aimed at improving the health, physical fitness and overall well-being of officers and personnel across the services.
In addition, it considered and approved 228 disciplinary cases as part of efforts to promote discipline, accountability and professionalism within the agencies.
The decisions form part of the Board’s administrative oversight of the four paramilitary services.
Recruitment Portal Reopens October 28
On recruitment, the Board announced that the portal for the ongoing Federal Government recruitment of 30,150 personnel into the four agencies would reopen from October 28 to November 13, 2026.
Jibril said candidates who had reached the oral interview stage would be able to check their recruitment status through the portal and proceed with the mandatory drug test.
The exercise will be conducted in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
He clarified that the drug test would be conducted free of charge, with the Federal Government bearing the cost.
According to the Board, successful candidates will receive their appointment letters after the NDLEA certifies them as free from illegal substance abuse.
CDCFIB Warns Applicants Against Payments
The Board warned recruitment candidates against making payments for the drug test or any part of the exercise presented as a mandatory recruitment fee.
Jibril urged anyone confronted with demands for payment to report the matter to the appropriate security authorities.
The Board’s announcement provides an update for applicants awaiting the next stage of the recruitment process, particularly those who have completed their oral interviews.
The heads of the four paramilitary agencies under the Board were present during the press briefing.
