President Tinubu Addresses Nation on Recent Security Successes
Abuja, Nigeria — 24 November, 2025
My fellow Nigerians,
In recent days, our nation has faced significant security challenges that demanded my full and undivided attention. You will recall that I cancelled my planned trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to remain at home and coordinate our security efforts more effectively.
Today, I am pleased to report encouraging progress. Thanks to the bravery, professionalism, and relentless commitment of our security forces, all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State, have been successfully rescued. Their safe return is a testament to what our security agencies can achieve when fully supported and mobilized.
In addition, 51 of the missing students from the Catholic School in Niger State have been recovered, and efforts continue to ensure that every remaining child is safely brought back to their families. These victories, though not the end of our work, reflect the determination of our forces and the resilience of our people.
Let me assure you that I am closely monitoring the security situation across the nation. I continue to receive real-time updates from the frontline, and I remain fully engaged in guiding and strengthening our coordinated response.
Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people. Our commitment is unwavering, and our resolve is firm.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu
President & Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces
Federal Republic of Nigeria
