BUNI, GAIDAM ANNOUNCE BABA MALLAM WALI AS APC CONSENSUS GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE FOR 2027 YOBE ELECTION

DAMATURU, YOBE STATE, NIGERIA — APRIL 30, 2026

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, alongside the Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Gaidam, has announced Baba Mallam Wali as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 Yobe State governorship election.

The announcement was made following consultations among key stakeholders of the party in the state, aimed at fostering unity and consolidating support ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.

According to party leaders, the consensus arrangement was reached to strengthen cohesion within the APC and avoid internal divisions that could affect the party’s chances in the 2027 polls.

Buni and Gaidam both expressed confidence in Wali’s capacity to build on existing achievements in Yobe State and deliver effective governance if elected.

They urged party members and supporters across the state to rally behind the consensus candidate, emphasizing the need for unity, discipline, and collective effort as preparations for the election intensify.
