APC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION IN RIVERS STATE.

PORT HARCOURT, RIVERS STATE – MAY 23, 2026

The All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential primary election is currently taking place across Rivers State, as party members in the 319 wards of the state vote to choose the party’s candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
The exercise recorded an impressive turnout of party faithful who came out to participate in the democratic process and cast their votes for their preferred aspirants.
Two presidential aspirants are contesting in the primary election — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Stanley Osifo.

Voting commenced peacefully in several wards across the state, with party officials and security personnel on ground to ensure a smooth and orderly exercise.

At Oyigbo Ward 3, the exercise has been concluded, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerging winner of the election in the area after the votes were counted and announced by party officials.

Collation of results is ongoing in other wards across Rivers State as party members await the outcome of the statewide exercise
