Two aspirants contesting the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries in Kebbi State have withdrawn from the race ahead of the party’s primary elections scheduled for May 18, 2026.

Former Deputy Senate Leader, Bala Ibn Na’Allah, announced his withdrawal from the APC Kebbi South Senatorial primary election in a letter addressed to the APC State Chairman in Birnin Kebbi.
Senator Na’Allah explained that his decision was based on credible information indicating that directives had already been issued regarding the conduct and outcome of the primary exercise.

He noted that he had dedicated the last fourteen years to building the APC at both state and federal levels as a founding member of the party. According to him, his decision to contest the election was influenced by appeals from supporters and constituents, many of whom contributed financially toward the purchase of his nomination form.
Despite stepping down from the race, Na’Allah urged his supporters to remain peaceful, calm and law-abiding. He also expressed gratitude to the APC for the opportunity to serve the country in various capacities, particularly during his tenure in the 8th Senate.
Similarly, APC aspirant for the Kebbi Central Senatorial District, Kabiru Muhammad Sani, also withdrew from the contest.

In his letter to the APC Chairman in Kebbi State, Kabiru cited personal, political and strategic reasons for his withdrawal from the race.
He appreciated the party leadership, his supporters and members of his campaign team for their encouragement and support throughout the period of his aspiration. Kabiru also reaffirmed his loyalty and commitment to the unity, growth and progress of the APC in Kebbi State and across the country.
