NAHCON launches “Hajj Companion App” to support Nigerian pilgrims

Abuja, Nigeria — May 5, 2026

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has launched a new digital platform, the Hajj Companion App, aimed at enhancing the overall pilgrimage experience for Nigerian pilgrims both within and outside the holy land.

According to the Commission, the application is designed as an all-in-one guide, offering critical support services to ensure a safe, seamless, and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience.

Pilgrims are encouraged to download the app through designated QR codes provided in official communication materials. The platform features a GPS navigation system to help users easily locate their tents and key pilgrimage sites across Mecca, Mina, and Medina.

The app also includes a comprehensive Hajj guide available in major Nigerian languages—Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo—ensuring accessibility for a wide range of users.

In addition, it provides a 24/7 call centre for real-time assistance and a built-in complaint system that allows pilgrims to report issues or emergencies directly from their mobile devices.

NAHCON stated that the initiative is part of its broader commitment to improving service delivery, coordination, and responsiveness during the pilgrimage.

The Commission urged intending pilgrims to actively use the app and called on stakeholders and the general public to widely disseminate information about the platform as preparations intensify for a smooth and successful Hajj exercise.
