Meghan Markle Unveils Geneva Exhibition Highlighting Social Media Dangers for Children

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – MAY 19, 2026

Meghan Markle has unveiled a new exhibition in Geneva aimed at raising awareness about the dangers social media poses to children and teenagers.
The exhibition, launched during an international forum on child safety and digital wellbeing, focuses on issues such as cyberbullying, online exploitation, mental health challenges, and the growing impact of excessive social media use on young people.
Speaking at the event, Meghan stressed the need for stronger protections for children in the digital space, urging governments, technology companies, parents, and educators to work together to create safer online environments.

According to organisers, the exhibition features personal stories from affected families, interactive displays, expert research findings, and multimedia presentations designed to educate the public on the psychological and emotional effects of harmful online content.
Meghan noted that while social media can provide opportunities for learning and connection, it also exposes children to serious risks if not properly regulated.

The initiative has drawn support from child advocacy organisations, mental health experts, and global policymakers attending the Geneva gathering. Discussions at the event also centred on improving online safety laws, promoting digital literacy, and encouraging responsible technology use among young people.
The Duchess of Sussex has continued to advocate for mental health awareness and child welfare issues through her public engagements and charitable activities.
