British pop star Dua Lipa has filed a lawsuit against Samsung Electronics, seeking at least $15 million in damages over the alleged unauthorized use of her image on television packaging.
According to court filings, the singer accused Samsung of using a copyrighted photograph of her without permission in a manner that falsely suggested her endorsement of the company’s products.
The lawsuit specifically references an image titled Dua Lipa – Backstage at Austin City Limits, 2024, which the singer claims she owns all rights, title, and interest in.
The suit alleges that the image was used on Samsung television boxes without authorization and that Dua Lipa only became aware of the alleged infringement in June 2025. The case is expected to focus on claims relating to copyright infringement, unauthorized commercial use of likeness, and false endorsement
