DELTA STATE POLICE RESCUES 3-YEAR-OLD GIRL, NABS SUSPECTED CULTIST, RECOVERS GUNS, RANSOM CASH

Asaba, Delta State – May 22, 2026

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have rescued a three-year-old girl who was allegedly kidnapped by a commercial motorcyclist assigned to take her to school daily.
According to a statement by the Police, the suspect, identified as Kelvin Ogaga, allegedly abducted the child and demanded a ransom of five hundred thousand naira from her family.

Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives stormed the suspect’s hideout in Ughelli, where the child was rescued unharmed. Officers also recovered one hundred and twenty-seven thousand naira believed to be part of the ransom payment.

The Police further disclosed that valuables allegedly purchased with proceeds of the crime were recovered, alongside the motorcycle reportedly used in carrying out the operation.
In a separate operation, operatives of the Police Buffalo Team recovered a Beretta pistol and an iPhone abandoned by a fleeing suspect during a stop-and-search patrol around the Power Line axis near Bonsaac.

Similarly, operatives attached to the Ozoro Division arrested a suspected cultist, identified as Michael Monday, during a township patrol. A search conducted on the suspect’s bag led to the recovery of a locally made cut-to-size single-barrel gun and one live cartridge.

Preliminary investigations by the Police linked the suspect to the Supreme Vikings Confraternity, popularly known as “Aro Bagger.”
The Delta State Police Command says investigations into the incidents are ongoing, while efforts are being intensified to apprehend other fleeing suspects connected to the crimes.
