Works Minister Goronyo Hosts Chinese Delegation, Reaffirms Strategic Partnership

Abuja, Nigeria — 25 November,  2025

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with the Chinese Government in the areas of capacity building, equipment provision, and technology transfer to enhance Nigeria’s infrastructure development.


This assurance was given by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, when he received a high-level delegation from CGGC Global at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.
During the meeting, both parties discussed critical areas of cooperation, including training opportunities for Nigerian engineers, the supply of modern equipment to support road maintenance, and the transfer of advanced construction methodologies that can be adapted to local needs. The discussions also emphasized the importance of long-term sustainability in the nation’s road infrastructure.


Minister Goronyo expressed optimism about the partnership, noting that it aligns with the Ministry’s long-term goals of strengthening Nigeria’s infrastructural development roadmap. He reiterated the Federal Government’s determination to transform the country’s road network through improved technical capacity and the adoption of modern engineering practices consistent with global standards.
The Vice President of CGGC Global, He Yonglun, expressed the company’s strong interest in contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s infrastructure growth, assuring that CGGC Global remains committed to supporting the Ministry’s development objectives.


The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides agreeing to establish a joint technical committee. The committee will review the Ministry’s needs alongside CGGC Global’s proposals and develop a structured framework to guide future cooperation.
