ZAMFARA GRAND RECEPTION: VICE PRESIDENT KASHIM SHETTIMA WELCOMES GOVERNOR LAWAL INTO APC, ASSURES END TO INSECURITY

Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has officially welcomed the Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, into the All Progressives Congress (APC), assuring residents of renewed efforts to tackle insecurity in the state.

The Vice President gave the assurance during a grand reception held in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, where political stakeholders, party loyalists, and residents gathered to witness the historic development.

Shettima described Governor Lawal’s defection to the APC as a significant step towards strengthening unity and fostering collaboration needed to address the security challenges confronting Zamfara State and the wider North-West region. He emphasized that the Federal Government remains committed to restoring peace and stability across the country.

According to him, the inclusion of Governor Lawal into the ruling party would enhance cooperation between the state and the Federal Government, thereby accelerating efforts to combat banditry and other criminal activities that have plagued the state.

Governor Lawal, while addressing the crowd, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and pledged to work closely with the Federal Government and the APC leadership to deliver good governance and improve the security situation in Zamfara State.

The event also attracted top government officials, party chieftains, and supporters, marking a new political chapter for the state as stakeholders expressed optimism about improved security and development.
