FEC Approves PPP Projects for Transport Data Bank, Ports Power Plants

Abuja, Nigeria, May 10, 2026

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved three Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s transport and energy infrastructure.

The projects include the development of a smart national transport data bank under the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, as well as independent power projects (IPPs) at the Onne Port in Rivers State and the Apapa Port in Lagos State.

The initiative is expected to improve efficiency in transport planning, enhance data-driven decision-making, and boost reliable power supply within key logistics and maritime hubs across the country.

Officials say the approval reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to modernising critical infrastructure through private sector participation and improving service delivery across strategic economic sectors.
