Gunmen Ambush Troops, Kill 10 in Kebbi

Suspected gunmen have killed nine soldiers, one police officer, and several civilians in an ambush at Giron Masa community in Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The attack, which has heightened security concerns in the area, reportedly targeted security personnel, leading to multiple casualties among both operatives and civilians.

Governor Nasir Idris confirmed the incident after visiting victims receiving treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Birnin Kebbi.

He expressed concern over the tragic loss of lives and assured residents that efforts were being intensified to address the security situation and prevent further attacks.

The incident underscores the persistent security challenges in parts of the country and the need for strengthened operations and collaboration among security agencies to curb violent attacks and safeguard communities.
