FG PARTNERS WITH NIMC TO LAUNCH NIN-ENABLED G2P CARD FOR GEEP BENEFICIARIES

Ibadan, Nigeria, March 27, 2026
The Federal Government of Nigeria has partnered with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to launch a NIN-enabled Government-to-Person (G2P) card aimed at enhancing service delivery for beneficiaries of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP).
The initiative, announced via Aso Villa Digital, is part of broader efforts to improve transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the distribution of government support schemes.
The NIN-enabled G2P card is designed to integrate beneficiaries’ National Identification Numbers (NIN) with financial services, ensuring secure and seamless access to funds and other government interventions. This move is expected to eliminate issues such as duplication, fraud, and delays in disbursement.
Under the new system, GEEP beneficiaries will be able to receive payments directly through the card, simplifying access to financial support while promoting financial inclusion, particularly among underserved populations.
Officials say the collaboration between the Federal Government and NIMC will also strengthen the national identity database and support the digitization of public service delivery across multiple sectors.
Stakeholders have described the initiative as a major step toward leveraging technology to improve the efficiency of social intervention programmes and ensure that benefits reach the intended recipients.
The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to implementing innovative, data-driven solutions that enhance governance, empower citizens, and drive inclusive economic growth.
