APC National Convention Ends on High Note as Otunba Dapo Okubadejo Hails Unity, Renewed Directions.
The curtains have come down on the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention in Abuja, and by most accounts, the party made a statement, not just through speeches, but through sheer presence, held at Eagle Square under the theme “Unity in Progress: Consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the convention drew delegates, governors, and party faithfuls from every states in the federation in what observers are already describing as the largest political gathering in Africa not Nigeria’s history. The scale of the turnout alone, many noted, said something about where the APC stands heading into the next phase of national politics.

The Ogun State’s Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser to Governor, Otunba AbdulRahman OlaDapo Okubadejo was in attendance, alongside with the Governor, His Excellency Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun CON, who doubles as the Chairman of the convention committee and other senior members of the Ogun State delegation.

Speaking after the convention, Otunba Dapo Okubadejo did not mince words about what he witnessed. “This was not just a party convention, but a declaration,” pointing to the organisation, the turnout, and the unmistakable sense of collective resolve that ran through the two-day event.
Otunba Dapo Okubadejo said the convention’s theme was not merely ceremonial. Unity, he stressed, is the precondition for everything else the party is trying to build, and the Renewed Hope Agenda, for all the noise that surrounds it, is producing early results that deserve acknowledgement, He cited growing signs of economic stabilisation and a gradual return of investor confidence as indicators that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reforms, though demanding, are beginning to find their footing. “Bold decisions rarely feel comfortable in the short term,” “but the direction is right, and the conviction behind it is real”.
He also had words for his dynamic visionary and strategic Boss and Leader, Governor Dapo Abiodun CON, commending his approach of governance and aligning Ogun State’s ISEYA development agenda with national priorities — an alignment that has allowed the state to benefit from federal momentum while continuing to drive its own progress across infrastructure, education, economic development, and more.
The convention closed with a unified message from party leadership, tighten internal cohesion, deepen grassroots work, and keeps the APC competitive and credible ahead of future electoral contests.
Otunba Dapo Okubadejo left Abuja sounding focused. The path forward, he said, is not complicated but it requires discipline, unity, and leaders at every level who are willing to sacrifice and deliver, not just empty promises.
