Akwanga, Nasarawa State — May 18, 2026
Former Executive Vice-Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Mohammed Haruna, has appealed to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State to support his ambition to emerge as the party’s governorship candidate ahead of Thursday’s primary election.
Haruna made the appeal on Sunday during a northern zone rally organised by the Coalition of Mohammed Haruna Support Groups in Akwanga, where he also called for a peaceful and transparent primary process.
Addressing party supporters and stakeholders, the former NASENI boss urged APC members to conduct themselves responsibly and avoid actions capable of causing division within the party. He stressed the need for unity before and after the exercise, noting that the success of the APC in the 2027 governorship election would depend on cohesion among party members.
Haruna said his aspiration was driven by a desire to advance development in Nasarawa State through policies focused on infrastructure, education, youth empowerment and economic growth. He assured supporters that his administration would prioritise inclusive governance and improved opportunities for residents across the state if elected governor.
The governorship hopeful also expressed confidence in the APC leadership to ensure a credible primary election, while encouraging delegates to vote based on competence, integrity and commitment to the development of the state.
The rally attracted party loyalists, youth groups and community leaders from across the northern senatorial zone of Nasarawa State, many of whom pledged support for Haruna’s ambition.
