DEFENCE MINISTER REAFFIRMS SUPPORT TO FAMILIES OF THE NATION’S FALLEN HEROES

The Federal Ministry of Defence has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the families of military personnel who lost their lives in service to the nation.
The Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, gave the assurance while receiving Hassan Braimah, brother of the late Brigadier General Oseni Omoh Braimah, at the Ministry of Defence in Abuja.
According to a statement issued by the Special Assistant on Media, Leah Katung-Babatunde, the minister said the Armed Forces would continue to stand by the families of the nation’s fallen heroes and remain dedicated to providing the necessary assistance and support.
Brigadier General Braimah, a distinguished Infantry Officer of the Nigerian Army, died in the line of duty at Benisheikh on April 9, 2026, while serving the country.
The visit highlighted the nation’s enduring appreciation for the sacrifices made by military personnel in the defence of Nigeria’s territorial integrity and security.
The ministry also reiterated its resolve to preserve the legacy of fallen officers by ensuring that their families are not abandoned, stressing that the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes would always be remembered and honoured.
