Yobe Govt Approves Automatic Employment for 416 Graduating Nurses and Midwives

The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the automatic employment of 416 graduates from the Shehu Sule College of Nursing Sciences, Damaturu.
The beneficiaries include 158 Community Nurses, 196 Basic Nurses and Midwives, as well as 62 Higher National Diploma (HND) graduates in Nursing from the institution.
Governor Buni made the announcement during the graduation ceremony of student nurses and midwives held in Damaturu, the state capital.
Represented at the event by his Deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, the governor stated that the decision reflects the state government’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector.
He noted that sustained investments in the college and broader health sector reforms are already yielding positive outcomes, particularly in addressing manpower shortages across health facilities in the state.
The governor added that the automatic employment initiative is part of efforts to ensure adequate staffing and improved healthcare service delivery for residents of Yobe State.
