Ogun Holds Inaugural Multisectoral Coordination Meeting for Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up Project

Abeokuta, Ogun State — November 11, 2025

The Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Hon. Prince Oladapo Okubadejo, today chaired the inaugural and maiden meeting of the Multisectoral Coordination Structure (MCS) for the Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up Project (NFWP-SU) held in Abeokuta.

The initiative, a Federal Government programme supported by the World Bank, aims to empower women, improve livelihoods, and strengthen economic inclusion across Ogun State.

Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Okubadejo, who also serves as Chairman of the MCS, described the committee as the engine room for coordination, accountability, and synergy among ministries and stakeholders to ensure the effective rollout of the NFWP-SU in the state.

He reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration to building a model of inclusive development that promotes women’s participation in the economy and ensures that growth delivers tangible benefits to every community.

“Our goal is clear — to create an enabling environment where women can thrive, contribute meaningfully to the economy, and drive sustainable change at the grassroots,” Okubadejo stated.

The newly inaugurated committee includes key members of the State Executive Council:

Adebola Sofela, Commissioner for Industry, Trade & Investment Engr. Ola Oresanya, Commissioner for Environment Ms. Damilola Otubanjo, Special Adviser, Ogun State Water Corporation

The meeting marks a critical step toward strengthening institutional collaboration and ensuring that the Nigeria for Women Program achieves its goal of promoting financial inclusion, enterprise growth, and socio-economic advancement for women across Ogun State.
