Ogun State Holds Treasury Board Meeting on 2026–2028 MTEF and 2026 Budget

The Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Hon. Prince Dapo Okubadejo, joined His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, at the Treasury Board Meeting on the 2026–2028 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and the 2026 Budget, held at the Obas Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The meeting brought together key government officials and representatives of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to review the fiscal outlook and revenue strategy for the coming years.

Governor Abiodun tasked all MDAs with collectively generating ₦500 billion to fund the 2026 Budget. He directed the Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS) to raise ₦250 billion, while other revenue-yielding agencies are expected to contribute the remaining ₦250 billion. The governor urged innovation, accountability, and creativity in achieving these targets to sustain the state’s developmental momentum.

In his opening remarks, Hon. Prince Dapo Okubadejo reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and accountability in fiscal governance. He noted that the Treasury Board Meeting serves not only as a statutory requirement but also as a strategic platform for reflection, evaluation, and collaboration among stakeholders to strengthen the foundations of good governance.

Hon. Okubadejo commended MDAs for their professionalism and dedication throughout the budget preparation process. He encouraged them to defend their budget proposals with clarity, data, and measurable outcomes, ensuring alignment with the administration’s development priorities.

“Our collective effort in planning and executing this budget determines how well we deliver on our promises to the people of Ogun State,” Okubadejo stated.

The meeting marked a significant step in the Abiodun administration’s ongoing effort to deepen fiscal discipline, expand the revenue base, and promote inclusive economic growth across Ogun State
