FG, Ministry of Works Inspects Ndi Ibe Beach in Ebonyi, Highlights Tourism and Infrastructure Development Plans

Abakaliki, Ebonyi State – January 28, 2026

The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Works, has conducted an inspection visit to Ndi Ibe Beach in Ebonyi State, as part of efforts to assess the site’s infrastructure status, environmental condition, and development prospects.


The inspection exercise was led by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (South East), Barr. Chioma Nweze, alongside senior officials of the Ministry of Works. The team evaluated existing facilities, access routes, and the overall suitability of the area for sustainable development and tourism-related investments.

Speaking during the visit, officials described Ndi Ibe Beach as a site with significant untapped potential to enhance tourism activities, create employment opportunities for youths, and stimulate local economic growth in Ebonyi State. They noted that with targeted infrastructure upgrades and environmental management, the beach could emerge as a major recreational and cultural destination in the South East.
The delegation further emphasized that the inspection aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes inclusive development, economic diversification, and community-focused infrastructure. The visit also reflects ongoing initiatives by the Ministry of Works under the leadership of the Honourable Minister, Engr. David Umahi, to improve access roads, supporting infrastructure, and connectivity across Ebonyi State and the wider South East region.

Community engagement, environmental sustainability, and collaboration with state and local stakeholders were highlighted as key components of the Federal Government’s approach to developing tourism assets such as Ndi Ibe Beach.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging infrastructure development as a catalyst for economic growth, social inclusion, and regional development, while ensuring that host communities benefit directly from such projects.
