IKEJA, LAGOS — MAY 7, 2026
Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Thursday dismissed the preliminary objections and bail application filed by the Managing Director of Intermediate Investment Holdings Limited, Ufoma Joseph Immanuel, over an alleged $1.5 million fraud.
Immanuel and his company, Intermediate Investment Holdings Limited, are facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence and forgery involving the sum of $1.5 million.
The anti-graft agency had earlier arraigned the defendant and the company before the court on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
During Thursday’s proceedings, Justice Dada ruled against the applications filed by the defence, thereby allowing the trial to proceed.
The EFCC alleged that the defendants fraudulently obtained the sum under false pretences and were involved in acts of forgery connected to the transaction.
The matter was subsequently adjourned for continuation of trial.
