AU Commission Congratulates Ouattara on Re-Election in Côte d’Ivoire

The African Union (AU) Commission has extended its congratulations to President Alassane Ouattara on his re-election, following the announcement of results in Côte d’Ivoire’s presidential election.
In an official statement, the Chairperson of the AU Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, praised the Ivorian people for their active participation in the electoral process and commended the country’s national institutions for ensuring that the vote was conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner.
Chairperson Youssouf urged all political and social stakeholders in Côte d’Ivoire to continue fostering peace, dialogue, and national unity in the post-election period. He emphasized that inclusive engagement and mutual respect remain vital for the nation’s continued stability and progress.
Reaffirming the African Union’s commitment, the Commission pledged to support Côte d’Ivoire in its ongoing efforts to strengthen democratic governance, stability, and sustainable development.
Youssouf also recognized Côte d’Ivoire’s important role in promoting peace and security across the West African region, pledging the AU’s continued partnership with Ivorian authorities to advance a stable, united, and prosperous region.
