CHIEF OF AIR STAFF MEETS THEATRE COMMANDERS, SETS ORDER FOR SMARTER AND HARDER AIR STRIKES TO SECURE NIGERIA
Abuja, Nigeria — November 6, 2025
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has issued a clear directive to all operational commanders of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to intensify precision air operations and deliver smarter, harder, and more decisive air strikes against insurgents, terrorists, and criminal networks threatening Nigeria’s peace and stability.
Air Marshal Aneke gave the order during a high-level strategic meeting with Air Component Commanders from all operational theatres held in Abuja.
According to a statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Air Chief emphasized that the evolving security landscape demands greater agility, precision, and intelligence-driven warfare. He urged all commanders to ensure that every mission is executed with the highest levels of professionalism, purpose, and patriotism.
“The days ahead require us to be smarter and faster. Every mission must count — every strike must be precise and decisive. We must continue to defend our nation’s sovereignty with courage and competence,” Air Marshal Aneke stated.
Reassuring personnel of his commitment to their welfare, capacity development, and operational effectiveness, the CAS noted that the Nigerian Air Force under his leadership will continue to prioritize innovation, technology, and advanced training to achieve superior mission outcomes.
He further reiterated the Force’s unwavering dedication to supporting the Federal Government’s vision of a secure and peaceful Nigeria, while upholding international standards of conduct, discipline, and accountability.
“Our mandate is clear — to secure Nigeria’s skies and safeguard her citizens. We will continue to adapt, modernize, and operate with integrity as we confront the nation’s security challenges,” he added.
The meeting comes as part of ongoing efforts by the NAF leadership to strengthen coordination across operational commands and sustain momentum in joint operations with sister services in counterterrorism and internal security missions nationwide.
